Polar Bear Swim!!

This is our 2nd year hosting New Year's Eve at our house with Brandon's Family. We have so much fun ringing in the New Year. One of our traditions is the Polar Bear Swim. This year we decided to do it at midnight. So Brad, Brandon, Tyson, and Parker were the only brave ones to jump in. It was exceptionaly cold this year. The wind was blowing so hard and the temperature had dropped to the 40s. We knew that Brad and Brandon would go. Tyson hesitated but finally jumped and Parker got in as far as he could without passin out. The Polar Bear swim is a highlight of the festivities, because of all the reactions to the cold water. It really is quite hilarious.

A very interesting discovery!!

While I was cruising through Target one day I saw this Neutrogena makeup remover and was interested to see how it compared to the Mary Kay makeup remover (which I love and can't live without). I was surprised to discover that I couldn't tell the difference between the two. I even looked it up on http://www.cosmeticdatabase.com/ and found they were identical in numbers (both are a 4, by the way). But, there was something that was different about them. Mary kay's makeup remover is 3.75 fl oz. for $14 and Neutrogena's is 5.5 fl oz. for $6. Go check it out and tell me what you think. I am very relieved to know that there is life after Mary Kay. :) Chow.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I think my favorite part of Valentine's Day is how special you feel when people tell you they love you. Sometimes as a parent all you want is to be told how much you are loved. Especially, when you feel guilty for constantly getting after your kids about everything. I love them and love to watch the growth that occurs daily. They're desire to learn, love, and explore is amazing to me. I am grateful to be part of their lives.

My brother Buck, the Marine!

My brother Buck, from Washington, visited a few weeks ago, after he graduated basic training with the Marines. It was really neat to listen to his stories and learn more about serving in the Military. He moves on very soon for more training and I am proud of his decision to serve his United States.

Road Trip!!

My friend Holly Spilsbury tied the not at the end of December in San diego (below). So my childhood friends and I decided to take a very quick, 30 hour, road trip to San Diego to see it all take place. It was so much fun!!! My friends have told my numerous times how much fun a girl-friend road trip is, and now I know why. I HIGHLY recommend it. It was such a blast and we are better friends for spending 12+ hours in the car.
The wedding was wonderful and I do have to say that the San Diego temple is so unique and special. The reception was gorgeous as it was in La Jolla on the beach. Very fun. I am so proud of Holly and hope that she and Spencer have a very happy life together. (My friends above are Kyla (Miller) Dutcher, Tiffany (Wilken) Moser, Jamie (Wold) Snow, and me.)

Happy New Year!!

Well, here we are. Here is our sweet little family. It's amazing to me to know that I have three children. Me! . . . and I don't feel any different then I did in High School, and yet I have a husband and three beautiful children. Time amazes me; how quickly it passes. I am grateful for the year behind us and the new one ahead of us. I pray that we will have just as many happy memories. Hope all of yours is filled with much happiness.
